Well would you look at that, today is JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE’S BIRTHDAY! Happy Birthday Bro. The wish that we all want to come true is that you make some more effing music. Justin Timberlake has been on a musical hiatus ever since his last album Future Sex/Love Sounds we haven’t hear one peep from Justin other then his casual movie role and on a few of his famous friends songs. Speaking of songs he was featured on this song by Ciara is my song of the day because of the funky theme it has going on, also the sexual theme. It’s a great listen for all few minutes of it, and it’s the last time I remember getting exciting about a Ciara track

X-Factor politely asks EVERYONE to leave.

Last year was the year for X-Factor! The show that was brought over from the U-K did okay over here in North America but apparently they want to start fresh. As of today, Nicole Scherzinger, host Steve Jones, and Paula Abdul have all been let go. L-A Reid and Simon Cowell are still on board. Well of course Simon is, he created it. But now we all have to sit back and wait to see who they are going to pick to replace. There are talks about Mariah Carey replacing Nicole, or maybe they will bring Cheryl Cole back?

I think that Mariah Carey should replace Paula, Cheryl Cole should replace Nicole, and as for the host…maybe Mario Lopez?

I have a huge feeling Simon is going to try to get as many big names as he can for that show, just so he can get all of us watching!

Bye Bye Chris Brown covers, Hello Karmin’s new single “BrokenHearted”

A song that is reminiscent of Katy Perry’s California Girls, Lover’s Karmin have released a follow up to their song “Crash Your Party”. The song is called “Broken Hearted”. The song which is like dessert to the radio, will for sure do much better then their first single did. Even though Amy CAN sing, she keeps true to what we love her for…her amazingly sick rap skills! There is even some sort of english accent in there. It’s a feel-good tune.

They are just great. ALSO! They will be performing on SNL on February 11th.

Elton John VS Madonna

  Right after the Golden Globes I asked a bunch of you…who do you prefer? You all said ELTON over Madonna any day. The reason I asked is because Elton has been talking a lot of sh*t about Madonna since she won a Golden Globe over him. More recently, Elton was on Good Morning America and he said 

Make sure you lip sync good”

LOL, yes he is THAT bitter. The thing about the Golden Globes is both of them were invited and I guess it was in Elton’s favour to win but Madonna has a movie to promote so her song won. Now I never really considered Madonna a musician…I would say she is more of an entertainer. So for Madonna to win an award OVER Elton John in a musical category kind of had me a little bit confused as well. 

BUT I will say that Elton needs to get over it…I’m sure ONE more Golden Globe wouldn’t matter compared to is Oscar, Tony, and Grammy’s. 

Maybe Elton is getting a little Greedy? What do you think? It’s like the Lil’ Kim and Nicki Minaj of adult contemporary music.

Lana Del Rey SLAYS with release of “Born To Die”

  I think it’s about time we put our hands together for Ms Lana Del Rey. One of the most buzzin’ artists and most hated artists has compiled an album full of unique songs that will keep music lovers ears happy for a very long time. Lana’s debut album has finally come out today and after all of the bad reviews Lana’s live performances have gotten, she really just slapped everyone in the face with this album. 

  The album’s common theme is money, love, and success. The music is composed of mostly strings, haunting echo’s, and unique bass drops…oh and don’t forget Lana Del Rey’s oh so unique voice. Lana has been dubbed the gangster Nancy Sinatra, but I’d like to call her a hood-Adele. The music is raw, honest, but just a little outside of the box. Lucky for Lana her music will appeal to everyone. I call it the Adele age group. So ages 10-90. If this album doesn’t do well, I will be very surprised.

  If your still not sure about getting the album you MUST listen to these songs: 

  • Born to Die
  • Video Games
  • National Anthem (Lana is actually rapping in this song, plus the chorus is way too catchy!) 
  • Dark Paradise 
  • Radio

I predict that Lana will be around for the long-haul. I usually don’t rave about an album but this album is cosmic.

Drake performs at the NHL All-Star Game!

People often say that Drake is one of the worst performers ever. I’d say there are worst out there. After watching this performance of Drake at the NHL All-Star Game I must say I’m pleased. The fans in the crowd were obviously showing mad-love for the canadian native but even the hockey players at their good old iPhone’s out trying to snap a picture of Drake. But don’t forget Drake always shows love for Canadians..before he performed he said ” If your proud to be Canadian tonight, make some noise!”

I’d like to say that HE KILLED IT! Well done.

Well I guess you could say I’m feeling the island vibe today. While thinking about what song would suit a day like today. It’s COLD outside but the sun is shining…it’s Monday, we needed something uplifting. This song with by reggae artists Courtney John signify’s being so in love that their are no holidays, breaks, or vacations. John’s falsetto voice reminds us fella’s to be thankful for the beautiful women in our life and to be thankful.

True Blood Season 5 PROMO!

Yeehaw! Fans of True Blood better pull out their vampire fangs because Season 5 is returning this summer! Last season we were left with a dead main character and the return of Russel Edgington. This promo signifies that nothing can ever stay buried. I stopped watching True Blood last year but then caught up and I must say it just keeps on getting better and better. If you stopped watching because of a dull episode just push through because it gets to much better!

I would theorize about what would happen in season 5 but that show is so messed up I can’t even think about it.

David Guetta + Nicki Minaj Teaser!

I like a good teaser for a top 40 David Guetta hit! The song featuring a singing Nicki Minaj called “Turn Me On” is getting the video treatment after already blowing up on the radio. Nicki Minaj is no where to be seen in the teaser but we can see Guetta creating mannequin like figures to roam the streets of his musical land. My theory is is that he is creating these people who signify his listening audience and that he basically controls us with his oh-so catchy music. Get it?

Why Drake Shouldn’t Play Obama;

Recently there have been reports that Drake wants to take on the role of Obama. Drake talked to VH1 and said

I hope somebody makes a movie about Obama’s life soon because I could play him, that’s the goal. I watch all the addresses. Anytime I see him on TV, I don’t change the channel, I definitely pay attention and listen to the inflections of his voice. If you ask anyone who knows me, I’m pretty good at impressions.”

Well I do remember Drake from Degrassi and he’s a pretty good actor, but good enough to play Obama? I don’t think so. The thing with Drake is that he is too well known to tackle a role as big at the U-S president. I feel like if I was to watch that movie his songs would be running through my head. That and who would play Michelle Obama? Rihanna…haha no way. Drake, I think you should tackle some other roles before you try to go for the academy award.

I’m not hating on his acting because as I said before I do think he is a good actor, but he must REALLY believe in himself to want to play Obama. Drake is not morphable, I feel like no matter what viewers wouldn’t be able to look at him and think it’s someone else. Catch my drift?

An Unwanted Wardrobe Malfunction;

  Well I didn’t see this one coming! Celine Dion was performing a concert in Jamaica (Hey, random malfunctions happen in random places) and she gave the crowd a little more then they payed for. The fans that were front row center, might have seen her “hoo-ha” so Dion decided to change into pants later in the concert. The reason I wrote about this story is because honestly I didn’t think that his would happen. But female artists hemlines are getting shorter and that means in the future there might be more for us to see.

Sounds perverted, but it’s true (insert evil laugh here)

P.S. there are no Celine Dion private parts pictures from the concert, so don’t you go to GOOGLE!

song of the day; Hot Chelle Rae – I Like It Like That

With the weekend upon us, and the weather looking like shit outside. I felt like today’s song of the day needed to be something fun and ‘summery’. The band that provided us with the summer song “Tonight, Tonight” released this fun and funky track a couple of months ago. Hot Chelle Rae just reminds me of fun, free spirits, and easy living. I don’t know why, but if you listen you’ll start to feel it too!
