The Voice wrap-up.

Congrats Jermaine Paul for winning the voice! To be honest, I didn’t watch all season but I did watch the finale. I was a little bit distracted by the Cee-Lo cat, Christina Aguilera cut away of her with a random child (I know it was hers), and Adam + Blakes bromance. It felt like years before we found out who actually won. But we got to see lots of group performances which was fun. Actually, Jermaine Paul’s was the best of the night. He performed “I Want You Back” with some of the past competitors. FloRida performed a new song called “Whistle” which sounds like it would be a summer anthem but a lot of us were waiting to see Bieber perform his new hit song “Boyfriend”.

I thought the performance was okay. Wasn’t anything too fantastic but it was good to see Bieber back and just being as swagged out as the next guy. The hype that he received for this performance was astronominal but did he live up to the expectation? For the nature of the song I think he did. Plus, his fans just want to see him in the flesh. Is that too hard to ask for?

And here is the FloRida song called Whistle. You’ll be hearing a lot of it this summer so why not indulge in it now? I like it.

The Wanted wants to be wanted.

“The sun goes down, the stars come out” are the lyrics you have been hearing for the past couple of months over and over again. The song that proves an accordion can make a song a smash hit sung by the U-K boy band The Wanted has gotten these boys quite the publicity. Instead of hiding from press and making them want more and more…the boys have been apart of some of the craziest headlines.

1:

They were told to stay away from One Direction.

Apparently the two bands use the same rehearsal space and whenever the boys are around One Direction they treat them like little bro’s. So a lots of pushing around and poking fun.

2:

While on tour with Britney Spears, they were told to ‘face the wall’ as she walked down around backstage.

They went on tour with Britney over in the U-K and signed a confidentiality agreement to not say anything about the tour. But they just did.

3:

They called Christina Aguilera a bitch.

Christina Aguilera was cold to them when they were on the voice so they called her a bitch. As simple as that.

4:

Justin Bieber punched one of them in the crotch.  

They were also on tour with Justin Bieber, and this doesn’t surprise me.

So what’s up with all the headlines guys? I don’t mind because I feel like they are letting us see what the celebrity world is actually like. Dealing with diva’s like Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears, people taking jokes in the wrong way like One Direction and having fun with Justin Bieber is basically all there is to the music industry.

Right?

Eminem being ‘burned’ by the homeless.

Eminem is being sued for 9 million dollars after a homeless man says he stole his idea! A man named Stephen Lee Peieck is sticking to the story that he was out for dinner with Christina Aguilera, Eminem called her and handed the phone to the homeless guy and he told Eminem how to make a commercial for Chrysler. He is suing Eminem for also not getting any credit/compensation for his brilliant idea. The story seems a little far fetched, but MAYBE he did go out for dinner with Christina Aguilera. It sounds so weird, because I swear Christina and Eminem don’t get along.

The commercial features Eminem’s oh so popular song “Lost Yourself” and is all about the city of Detroit. Reminds of his movie 8 Mile.

Lil Kim VS Nicki Minaj continues

These two wig wearing divas are still battling over…well I really don’t know at this point. Yesterday Nicki Minaj tweeted “Lil Kim u next” and then deleted it. Lil Kim obviously heard that Nicki posted the tweet so she went OFF.

REALLY?:Now some people are saying they should settle this through a collaboration but I disagree. These two should just stop tweeting about each other because it’s getting rather annoying. We have seen Christina diss Gaga but she ate her words because Lady Gaga became more successful then Aguilera would ever be. In this case Nicki Minaj is MUCH more successful than Lil Kim will be NOW. Lil Kim was HUGE back in ‘her’ day but now she is irrelevant.

the rise and FALL of Christina Aguilera

Musically we can all appreciate Christina Aguilera’s BEAUTIFUL voice. In the public for the past few years now we have heard Christina is rude to people, she is a Diva, she treated her ex-husband like S#*!. You know the same old speculation we get when it comes to celebrities. Recently Christina tried to come back after her horrendous album Bionic and everything didn’t seem to coordinate properly. She looked a bit ‘different’ and everything with her just wasn’t on-point.

The first ‘flub’: The SUPERBOWL. Luckily for the Black Eyed Peas, Christina’s (don’t forget the lyrics version of) rendition of the National Anthem had everyone talking after she messed up the lyrics. I gave her the benefit of the doubt, she was singing in front of MILLIONS of people and it’s quite the nerve racking thing to do. Didn’t really make sense because I am sure she has performed in front of millions before. But you can’t be that hard on the girl…and then the Grammy’s were the next weekend.

The Grammy’s: The opening of the Grammy’s had a tribute to Ms. Aretha Franklin by some ‘vocal’ heavyweights. The performance went without a ‘flub’ but the real ‘fall’ came when the camera cut away to a wide shot of the stage. All five ladies were in the shot, and then it was FOUR ladies. Where did Christina Go? SHE FELL. The first thing I thought was “WHY IS SHE SUCH A HOT-MESS”.

When Alcohol gets involved:  Then March Rolls around Christina Aguilera gets ARRESTED for being drunk in PUBLIC. Now….after all of the flubs and falls of February this was NOT surprising. I saw it come up in my twitter feed and I was like, of course she did. What’s next for Christina? Will she pull it together and make us MORE great music or is the start to many arrests and drug charges. Only time will tell.

My message to Christina: GET YOURSELF TOGETHER.

Grammy’s….the after party

DID YOU GUYS WATCH THE GRAMMY’S LAST NIGHT? IF you did, let’s just say the entire show was a little bit on the scrambled side. Not only is there MAJOR controversy about the awards and who won but the performances and outfits were something else.

Best New Artist: I was almost SURE that either Drake, Florence and the Machine or Mumford and Sons would win. Then all of a sudden they called some random girls name and all the millions of people watching were IN SHOCK. I was very surprised the Esperanza Spalding took the award home because honestly I didn’t see her as ‘competition’ for the others. As we all know the Grammy’s isn’t a popularity contest BUT in this care the winner of Best New Artist happens to be involved with the Grammy academy in some way. Ms Spalding has an AMAZING voice, so I’m not saying she isn’t talented she just caught a lot of us off guard when she won! Congrats though…. Never Say Never ;)

Lady Gaga in an EGG: Forget doing interviews, Lady Gaga was in incubation before her ‘Born This Way’ performance when she hit the red carpet. I don’t know if the EGG was the right choice for the Grammy’s. Seemed like it was more of a MTV VMA or an MMVA type of entrance not for an elegant night like the Grammy’s. HOWEVER Lady Gaga is known for shock value and she shocked EVERYONE with that egg. Who would have thought of that? It was pretty clever.

Performances: My favorite performance of the night would have to go to Katy Perry (  I L O V E Y O U ) She did a song called “Not Like The Movies” then danced around to Teenage Dream. She also revealed some footage from her wedding with Russel Brand. It was cute cute cute….I’m jealous. Too bad Katy got snubbed last night, I was kinda of p’d off that she didn’t win anything. NEXT YEAR!

Christina Aguilera: WHY IS THIS GIRL SUCH A MESS FOR? We all can’t deny that Christina Aguilera has an AMAZING VOICE. She was doing so good until random she fell on stage after the tribute to Aretha Franklin. I just DON’T understand what is wrong with her…get it together.

Justin Bieber Snubbed: His music is O-K, he is more of a popular artist not necessarily known for his MUSIC. No one says Justin Bieber is SUCH a good song writer…they just say AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH BIEBER FEVER. His Grammy will come…I never knew Esperanza was competition.

What does Skylar Grey look like: Didn’t it feel like the producers were trying to cover up her face. All what I remember her singing is ” I NEED A DOCTOR “, Maybe she was singing it for a reason….some people just thought she had a huge zit. But Skylar does have an AMAZING voice…like WOW.

Nicki Minaj: L O L

Rihanna and Drake?: These two love birds tore up the Grammy stage when they performed their hit “What’s My Name” IT was a short performance but Rihanna can WORK IT. For being SICK Rihanna pulled through, she was GREAT.

OVERALL: This award show was great! IT was more of a concert then an award show but it was great to see that ARCADE FIRE won big! The Grammy’s felt a LITTLE boring this year, but I can’t wait for next year!

The Grammy’s TONIGHT; WHY YOU SHOULD BE WATCHING..

My favorite award show of all time takes place tonight. The Grammy’s will start at 8PM eastern time to celebrate MUSIC like the Oscar’s celebrate movies. I remember watching the Grammy’s when I was younger, not really caring who won awards just wanting to see performances. For some reason all what I can recall is seeing Norah Jones perform “Don’t Know Why”….and I don’t know why. Last year was an amazing show because the Grammy’s use to be a very upscale classical type of award show, and last year with Lady Gaga opening the show it turned out to be more of a concert than an award show. Not to say when someone won an award it wasn’t a huge deal, but it seemed like everyones performances WERE very well THOUGHT out before they hit the stage comparing it to previous years…

Performers: TONIGHT we will get to see Lady Gaga perform her new single ‘Born This Way” FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER! Katy Perry said she will also be performing a song she has never performed before. Rihanna will be taking the stage with Drake to perform “What’s My Name” with Laryngitis and Bronchitis (that is if she doesn’t cancel between now and then). Mumford and Sons will take the stage with Bob Dylan to perform which will be has HISTORICAL as Taylor Swift performing with Stevie Nicks last year. There will be also be a Aretha Franklin tribute done by Jennifer Hudson, Christina Aguilera, and Florence Welsh. Justin Bieber and Jaden Smith will be performing with Usher….it’s just JAM PACKED with PERFORMANCES. Everyone always tries to put on the BEST show when it comes to the Grammy’s and bring their song alive. They are usually performing a song that got nominated meaning the performance will be to make the song more relevant to the Grammy’s.

All in all Tonight WILL be a good show. The fun thing about award shows is that the day after we get to talk about who WON, what people WORE, and who can’t sing LIVE! Who will deliver? Who will fail us? All questions will be answered TONIGHT! I am SO excited for this years Grammy’s!

Should be a good show…so the question remains. WILL YOU BE WATCHING?
