FRESH!; Candy Coated Killahz

March 1st, 2011 | Posted by marksuknanan in music - (0 Comments)

Looking for some FRESH NEW MUSIC? Well say HELLO to TORONTO-based group Candy Coated Killahz. Quite the name, but it is very relevant to their electro hip-hop vibe because looking at them you see two very swagged out group members (Tasha Dash & Icon the Anomali). But then you press play on that Youtube video and the combination of their music and look just KILLS ‘it’. Their music has influences of Lady Gaga’s old stuff and No Doubt’s Rock-Steady album. It’s hard to really pinpoint what influences this group uses but whatever it is KEEP USING IT. Candy Coated Killahz came out with an album called “It Factor” in 2008 and now we await their 2011 release called “Neon Black”. We need their music in the industry! It’s fresh and on point, putting Candy Coated Killahz on my watch list.

Here is their music video for “PLAYBOY” and BELOW is their new single called “NEON BLACK”:

can’t hardly wait; new music 2011

2011 marks a big year in music. A lot of artists are coming out with new music and there are a lot of people (like myself) that are dreading the wait for the full albums to come out! This is part one of my …. how many ever more there will be of: most anticipated albums of 2011!

Britney Spears: I am not a huge fan of her, but at the same time I am. I can’t get enough of her electronic voice and her catchy (not written by her) lyrics! Her new album which is untitled is due out in March and I am expecting some more club beats like her new single “Don’t Hold It Against Me”. Britney’s (kind-of) come back album is going to be epic beyond any other album of hers. The anticipation is CRAZY!

Lady Gaga: Born This Way is the title of the album and it is expected to be released on May 23rd 2011. I haven’t heard so much buzz about an album ever. Lady Gaga said over twitter that the album is her best work yet, with plenty of hits for us to enjoy. I thought that Lady Gaga would take a break since she has been touring since 2009 but I guess a true ‘entertainer’ never stops. I don’t even know what to expect musically from Gaga this time around. Will she change her vibe? Will she keep the same sound? It’s questions that won’t be answered until we get that single on February 13th...can’t wait!

No Doubt: I posted about them coming back with new music this year! I’m expecting more hits from this group. I wonder if Gwen Stefani will cross her ‘pop’ music into their new stuff? It is an idea if they wanted to be more ‘mainstream’. I wouldn’t mind if they did that. However with doing that cross over, their new music will not be as memorable as their old stuff. I still listen to “Hey Baby” and I definitely don’t listen to “Hollaback Girl” any more. What will they do new vibe or keep it old school? No album release date…yet!

The Ting Tings: If you haven’t listened to this band yet, you are missing out. Their rock-electro single “Hands” has me wanting more music from them! There is unfortunately no release date for their 2nd album…or name for that matter. If you don’t know who these group is they sung that song “That’s Not My Name” and “Shut up and Let Me Go”. Doesn’t ring any bells? Well don’t you worry because I can assure you when they come out with this new album there will be lots more hits to go around! ALSO last year they were up for Best New Artist at the 2010 Grammy’s!

To hold you over…here is ‘Hands’. Which albums are you waiting for this year?

I love music

music lovers. No Doubt is set to come back this year! This is HUGE since their last album was in 2001. They came back in 2008-2009 for a tour but only performed hits. NOW they plan on releasing NEW MUSIC this year. This brings me back to to days when No Doubt was on and poppin’ on my radio. Remember that song “Hey Baby, Hey Baby Hey” (favorite No Doubt song EVER). I like their music because it isn’t to ‘rock’ or ‘pop’ but it has this island feel good vibe to it. I have BEEN waiting for Gwen Stefani to come back since her solo album “The Sweet Escape” which was just full of hits! I wonder how their music is going to sound this time around, are they going to give-in to the auto-tune dance hits? Who knows…all what I’m saying is that they better come out with some music FAST!

I’m getting antsy.
